ref sheet of... myself? Got a haircut after i drew the first one and the cover, so that's different. And now you all know what I look like

Personality:
He's like wine. An acquired taste. Most people don't like him at first, though he tends to grow on you (like mold or necrosis, though those metaphors are a little unfair). He's open minded and doesn't let his opinions of people cloud his judgement. Dan generally doesn't feel close to anybody, save maybe one or two friends. Despite that, he's loyal to all his friends and is generally a very helpful guy, even with people he hardly knows.

Unfortunately, Dan doesn't have a very expressive face, and he often has a hard time showing emotion. Or maybe it's just that he doesn't really have too many emotions. It would be weird if he was visibly excited, angry, or scared. The only emotion which seems to come off clearly is joy. Maybe it's just the way the muscles developed on his face. Dan tends to smile (warmly) when things go horribly wrong, but usually has a at least a quick fix for just about anything. He goes about everything pretty logically, even if the time calls for a more impulsive solution.

It's perhaps due to his height, practicality, or just plain confidence that Dan ends up leading people. He can't stand being in a group where someone else is calling the shots, and he doesn't agree with them. This doesn't mean that he's a power hog though. If enough people disagree with him, he will change his mind and do what he can to help the group. In this way, he's a team player. But if the idea is dangerous, or just plain stupid, Dan will stay back and watch the plan unfold, or even leave the group.

Because Dan doesn't get attached to people, when people get hurt or die, he has a hard time caring. On the other hand, it's very difficult for him to imagine hurting people (or even large animals). Because he tends to be rather insightful, he tries to see things from other perspectives, and frequently has trouble hating enemies. That isn't to say he won't stand up for himself or others (here's that loyalty again). If a friend or comrade is in danger or gets hurt, Dan goes overboard, often taking retaliation too far and often ends up in the wrong at the end of fights. Either way, Dan is simply non-confrontational, and usually won't even argue with people (unless it's really important).

All that shit aside, Dan is polite and well spoken. So much so that people have often commented that he over pronounces every word and tends to sound too formal. Also, Dan's sense of humor sucks. Try as he might, he rarely tells a funny joke, and his intended humorous commentary often comes out awkward, and is frequently ignored. As a result, Dan usually makes one of two choices in social interactions:
Be resolved to sound like an idiot and talk as much as he can, or be calm and reserved making him look smart. The first option is usually reserved for people he's gotten comfortable with.
